Houston Tram Accident Spurs Lawsuit
Good to be back from Dallas…Last October 26 an automated tram hit two workers on an elevated track at Houston’s Bush Intercontinental Airport. The collision left one man dead and the other injured.
The tram travels along a mile-long track that serves all of the terminals. It is computer controlled by special software and is monitored by video cameras. All in all, someone may require a good Dallas accident doctor to help them out as a good doctor could be very important in this situation.
Marlene McClinton, a spokeswoman for the Houston Airport System, has been reported as saying the track where the accident occurred may have not been monitored at the time.
Two passengers riding aboard the two-car tram at the time of the incident were not hurt, according to McClinton. Obviously some folks may need a good Houston or Dallas car accident lawyer for this one.
Juan Manuel Cordero was one of the men struck by the. Travis Turner was killed by the tram.
Now a lawsuit alleges that Continental Airlines and the city of Houston did not employ sufficient safety measures to avert the accident. Dallas has enouph of these involving automibiles which explains the many accident lawyer in Dallas overall. Speaking of that I can endorse this Dallas personal injury lawyer

Neither Continental nor the city has issued any statements in response to the suit at this time.
According to documents filed with the court, the worker, Cordero, is reportedly mentally incapacitated, and the lawsuit asks for reparations for physical disfigurement and impairment, lost earnings, medical payment, and other damages.
The documents also name Johnson Controls Inc., who operats the tram system, and PBSJ Corp., Turner’s employer, as defendants in the case.
Cordero was working as an employee of construction contractor Weber LLC, and Turner and Cordero were on working on the track when they were struck by the tram.
Weber LLC was not named in the suit but the documents stated that PBSJ was responsible because Turner “escorted (him) to the work site where the accident occurred.” Speaking of that, someone may need a Personal injury lawyer Houston although not for a wrongful death but for personal injury nonetheless. A good lawyer is needed.
Just after the accident occurred, Johnson Controls stated that it followed safety guidelines created by the American Society of Civil Engineers for such systems, and stated that it was not clear “whether the parties involved in the accident were in compliance….”
It was reported in the media that no government-mandated safety standards exist for unmanned airport trams, which carry thousands of passengers every day. No mandates exist for federal or Texas state agencies to regulated or monitor the trams, which is really a wide open area for Houston lawyers on the whole..
